Sensei Casale’s Shotokan Karate Dojo was established in Brooklyn,

New York in 1986. It remains one of the most well known and respected

schools of Traditional Shotokan Karatedo in the United States and is one

of the few schools that continues to teach pure Traditional Japanese

Karatedo in the Traditional Japanese way. Since 1986 we have taught

over 35,000 students in our dojos and various programs in the New York

area. Students at our dojo learn EXACTLY the same way students learn

in Japan. In addition to this, ancient Japanese and Okinawan training methods are augmented with respect to cutting edge research in Sports Science, to create the ultimate Karate training experience. In 1999, The Casale Karate Dojo joined the JSKA (Japan Shotokan Karate Association) under the auspices of Keigo Abe Sensei. At that time, Sensei Casale founded The Japan Shotokan Karate Association in the United States and became an official representative of Master Keigo Abe and the JSKA in Japan.

JSKA-USA is not a large commercial operation.

For us, Karate is not just a business, it is a way

of life. Sensei Casale personally teaches most

of the training sessions and there are rarely

more than 15 students in a class. Because of

this, students receive higher quality instruction

than in other Karate schools. It is very rare for

students to have direct daily instruction from

a TRULY WORLD CLASS internationally

licensed instructor with Sensei Casale's

experience and credentials.

Our goal is to develop our students into disciplined, healthy and confident individuals who will have the courage and strength to do the right things in their lives. Safety is paramount in our teaching methods and since our opening in 1986 we have an ABSOLUTELY PERFECT SAFETY RECORD.

About our organizations:

In 1999, the Japan Shotokan Karate Association (JSKA) was founded by Keigo Abe Sensei in Tokyo, Japan. It remains one of the few Shotokan Karate organizations in the world that truly maintains high international standards and allows its members a direct lineage to the founder of Shotokan Karate,

Master Gichin Funakoshi.
